Twa Toots on MySpace

Thursday, January 11th, 2007

The second record we played on The Zanzibar Lounge was by an insanely rare British Twee Pop band called Twa Toots. If you have heard of this band outside of our podcast, feel lucky. A google search for them turns up jack crap.

I’m not sure if he/she wants their identity revealed, but a friend of ours has created a Twa Toots MySpace page. You can get there and add them as a friend at:

myspace.com/twatootspop

There are 4 tracks up there you will have a hard time finding in all but the most pretentious filesharing networks, so revel in them and bask in the glory which is Twa Toots.

We have also mentioned several times that Marc and Nicole write for web zine - RetroLowFi - they do a column there called Criminally Overlooked, and Twa Toots got a feature. The post doesn’t have much info, but it helps to fill in the story a bit. Check it out.

Zanzibar MySpace and Video Page

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

Well, we have finally succumbed to the torturous hordes begging us “PLEASE! WE NEED TO BE YOUR MYSPACE FRIENDS! PLZ W/ CHERRIEZ!”

Well wait no longer, fair fans!

Presenting the Zanzibar Lounge’s own MySpace page!

Be our friends, subscribe to our blog, comment on our photo(s), but don’t leave us gigantic images in comments… we will delete them, no matter how funny they are.

On a side note, Ryan has been collecting some YouTube videos he thinks you all might like, they will appear on the MySpace, as well as here at Zanzibar.Liberatr.net on a page called Video.

iTunes Comments

Comments, we get your comments, we get your com-ments ev-ry day…

Well, I wish we did.

This guy on iTunes - for the sake of argument, let’s call him “anonymous” had some“thing” to say about our show.

At least we have a comment on iTunes now.

If you listen through Apple’s glory hole, leave us some love. Maybe we will show up on that list of “Listeners also subscribed to:”… That would be a big day for us.

Love,

But this is not the way to do it. Also, if you’ve been waiting for 2 months, mister Comcast subscriber in Washington, why didn’t you say so earlier?

Zanzibar Lounge in the Orlando Weekly

Thursday, May 11th, 2006

Notable noise is a very quick-and-dirty listing of a bunch of things, normally what local musicians are up to. The column is penned by Jason Ferguson, and although we were not informed we would be appearing in the paper, I am OVERJOYED at the mention! I was wondering why the newest show had more listeners than the oldest show. Now I know.

Check out the mention:

Taken from Notable Noise on 4/20:

Marc With a C is co-hosting a super-hilarious (if completely dorky) podcast called “The Zanzibar Lounge.” You can get it at zanzibar.liberatr.net. Liberatr is also serving up live shows at live.liberatr.net; the first is a Marc With a C show, but the likes of Unicornicopia and Bucket of Nails are also supposed to be on the schedule

Hey there, Kitten!

Monday, April 10th, 2006

I would hate for you to show up at the site and go “Ycchh, just one post? What is this noise?” So here is a little howdy-hoo hello.

Have you cats and birds ever tried Lost Coast Brewery’s Great White? MMmmmm… Wheat beer, nice and crisp, with a hint of citrus so you don’t have to look like a square with a slice of lemon in his beer.

Available at fine beer retailers everywhere.

This was not a paid advertisment, I just love that beer.
